A study by Spanish solar association UNEF estimates that solar PV generation reduced Spain’s wholesale electricity costs by €17.02 billion ($19.03 billion) between January 2025 and June 2026. Without solar generation, average daily market prices would have been 86% higher, according to the analysis.
