The Adamawa State Government has stepped up efforts to expand access to clean and reliable electricity, with the Ministry of Works and Energy Development, in partnership with the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), conducting an inspection of ongoing solar mini-grid projects in several rural communities across the state.
The inspection team, led by the Director of Transmission, Distribution and Rural Access Power, Engr. James Yohanna, included Engr. Kabir Bashir, Engr. Wamanya Elias Jalo and Engr. Boniface Bwalamari.
The delegation toured project sites in Kuva Gaya, Kwakwaah, Gaanda and Shuwa, as well as Michika General Hospital and a Primary Health Care Clinic.
During the inspection, the engineers confirmed that critical components of the projects, including standard electrical wiring, metering systems and balance-of-system installations, had been substantially completed.

They expressed satisfaction with the pace of work, noting that the projects are progressing in line with approved technical specifications and quality standards.
The officials explained that the solar mini-grid initiative is aimed at delivering clean, sustainable and reliable electricity to underserved rural communities, improving access to power for households, healthcare facilities, schools, small businesses and other essential public institutions.
Residents of the benefiting communities praised Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and the Rural Electrification Agency for the intervention, describing the projects as a transformative initiative that will enhance livelihoods, stimulate economic activities and improve the quality of life in rural areas.
The inspection forms part of the state governments commitment, in collaboration with its development partners, to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality infrastructure projects that will provide lasting and sustainable electricity access for communities across Adamawa State.
